Oceans (Where Feet May Fail) Meaning

“Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)” is a song by Hillsong United from their album Zion and released in September 10, 2013. This song spent 48 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart in the United States year 2013 and became the top song of 2014 on the chart.

This song talks about trusting God. It is like Peter in the bible when He walked on the water to Jesus. Remember if you take your eyes off him you will drown. We must trust God and He will not let you drown if you believe and keep Him at the center of your life. The song gave us strength to trust God more instead of the troubles that we have encounter. He always give us mercy to stand because He always care for us. He tattooed us in His palm and He has a better plans for everyone. No one’s perfect but with God’s sight we are all perfect because we are belong to Him and He always loves us.

You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand

And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You’ve never failed and You won’t start now

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior

Oh, Jesus, you’re my God!

Psalm 80:18“Then we will not turn away from you;revive us, and we will call on your name.”
