Give Thanks Meaning

“Give thanks” was written by Henry smith in 1978 and recorded by Don Moen, an american singer and songwriter. In December 30, 1986, the Integrity Music, Hosanna! Music, and Sparrow Records released this song on December 30, 1986.

I loved this song very much. Everytime I sing this song I felt so relax and enjoyed. But the time goes by, I realize that the song “Give thanks” has a deeper meaning that want to tell us.

We must be contented for what we have. Realize even we are in hard times, we can do things because God is always here to gives us strength. We should be thankful for our daily lives, for the blessed that He showered on us, for the good health and for making us strong. Be thankful for his spirit and for his unconditional love, for the good and bad times. Be thankful for His limitless forgiveness to us in spite of our countless mistakes that we have done everyday. Be thankful to God  for not ignoring and still loving us. Be thankful for sending his son to save us from the sins and present of evil.

Lyrics:

Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One
Give thanks because He’s given Jesus Christ, His Son

And now let the weak say, “I am strong”
Let the poor say, “I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for us”

Give thanks with a grateful heart (with a grateful heart)
Give thanks to the Holy One (to the Holy One)
Give thanks because He’s given Jesus Christ, His Son

And now let the weak say, “I am strong”
Let the poor say, “I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for us”

We give thanks to You

Psalm 126:2-3“Then our mouth was filled with laughter and our tongue with joyful shouting; then they said among the nations, ‘The Lord has done great things for them.’ The Lord has done great things for us; we are glad.”
